MultiFest Parade, Saturday, June 27

The Hon. Lena M. Diab, Nova Scotia’s Immigration Minister, will Grand Marshall the second annual Nova Scotia Multicultural Festival parade on Saturday, June 27th, which is also Canadian Multiculturalism Day.

Minister Diab has a long history with the Multicultural Association of Nova Scotia and was the organization’s first youth president when the inaugural Multicultural Festival was staged 31 years ago.

Samba Nova will set the pace for this year’s parade, which will feature musicians, dancers, performers, cultural groups in festive costume, community organizations and sponsors, showcasing multiculturalism at its finest. Feed Nova Scotia will also be collecting donations along the parade route.

Starting at 10 a.m. from the staging area at Garrison Grounds, the parade proceeds down Bell Road to Spring Garden Road, Barrington Street, Morris and then down Hollis Street, passing the Seaport Farmers Market on Harbourfront and concluding at the festival grounds at Halifax Seaport.
